Barely 24 hours after his passing, Mr Ibu’s stepdaughter, Jasmine Okafor, has taken over the Nollywood actor’s TikTok account of over 1 million followers. Jasmine Okafor has changed the account's name to her own name, deleting all the late actor’s videos except the ones she featured in.

A check on the late actor’s Tiktok page on Sunday by GHcelebritybiz revealed that the account has now been renamed to @LadyJasminec_live.ghcelebritybiz.

The check also indicates that Jasmine Okafor has still maintained her personal account with the username @ladyjasminec. Which has 1.3 million followers. The reason behind her actions is unclear.

However, it is worth noting that Mr Ibu’s adopted daughter opened the account for the actor some years ago and managed it on his behalf. John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, died at the Evercare hospital in Lagos on Saturday, March 2, at age 62, after a long illness.

His manager says he suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lagos State, Nigeria. The legendary actor has been battling health issues since October 2023 and has undergone multiple surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg. He received treatment and was discharged in early January this year.

In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment.

Mr Ibu, until his death, was an indigene of Nkanu West Lagos of Enugu State. He is survived by his wife and three children.
