Kelvyn Boy, a highly acclaimed Ghanaian singer, has finally responded to criticisms from industry figures who argue that he lacks a distinct musical identity.
In a 2018 discussion on Hitz FM, Mark Okraku Mantey, who now serves as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, questioned Kelvyn's musical identity, stating, "Does he have an identity when it comes to rhythms that he performs? He doesn’t. I have heard him on different rhythms, different songs and he sounds different on almost every beat."
In a recent interview on Accra FM with Nana Romeo, Kelvyn Boy addressed this criticism, asserting that it doesn't hold merit to claim he lacks an identity. He pointed to his songs such as 'Yawa No Dey,' 'Mea,' and 'Down Flat' as evidence of his distinct style.
However, Kelvyn Boy criticized Mark Okraku Mantey for being overly vocal and questioned what contributions he has made to industry development.
