A minimum of three years in prison and a maximum of five years in prison have been approved by Parliament for anyone found to be endorsing, sponsoring, or assisting LGBTQ+ activities in Ghana.

In the course of discussing the law pertaining to the advancement of appropriate human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values, Ningo Prampram MP Sam Nartey George expounded on the reasoning for the suggested sanctions. He emphasized that rather than being more concerned with people's private lives, the public is more interested in the advocacy and advancement of LGBTQ+ objectives.
George stressed, "For those found engaging in these activities themselves, the punishment ranges from a minimum of six months to a maximum of three years." in order to break down the punishments. However, the punishment rises to a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years for those who actively support, sponsor, or promote such goals."
In the face of continuous discussions about LGBTQ+ rights and cultural acceptance, this decision highlights Ghana's dedication to maintaining traditional values and social standards.
After overcoming this obstacle, the Bill can now become law because it seems that all of the objections made to the original provisions have been taken care of.
