Togbe Afede XIV believes traditional leaders should address the basic needs of their peoples and aspirations for better living standard rather than just being in the insignia of royalty.

In recent years it has become irrelevant in modern times. To address this a summit is organized to unite chiefs with a common ancestral background to protect the institution of chieftaincy and bring about transformation in their communities and countries.

The motive behind the summit organized by the Agbogblomefia Togbui Afede is to Foster unity love among all Ewe speaking communities to enable them to confront common enemies such as poverty, illiteracy and diseases
