After learning on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, that he had been disqualified from The Headies 2022, Nigerian singer Portable responded to the event's organizers with a mysterious message.
Because of his recent assertion that he established "1 Million Boy," a gang that terrorizes Lagos state, Portable was disqualified from the Headies. After the musician made the irresponsible comment on social media, the Nigerian Police launched an investigation into him, despite Portable's protests that he wasn't the one who founded the gang.
The Headies Awards cited Portable's murder threats against other contenders in the two categories he won at the coveted award, "Best Street Artist" and "Rookie of the Year," in their disqualifying statement.
Unrepentant Portable responded to the disqualification by boasting about his abilities, God, wealth, and family while pleading with the Headies awards to be gentle. He continued by saying he wasn't sorry for what he did.
