Losing the injunction action that forbade Black Sherif from singing his music
The Kwaku The Traveller hitmaker won the court battle he was in with his former manager Shadrack Agyei Owusu, who tried to prevent Black Sherif from performing his songs.
It has come to light that the lawsuit has been dismissed by the High Court's Commercial Division, which is chaired by Her Ladyship Justice Akua Sarpomaa Amoah (Mrs.).
On April 11, 2022, Shadrach filed a lawsuit against the performer, alleging, among other things, damages and more than $1 million for contract breach.
Additionally, he requested an injunction to prevent the musician from using his talent and performing until the lawsuit was resolved through trial.
According to Ghana Weekend, Mr. Agyei Owusu also requested temporary preservation, the appointment of a receiver to supervise and account for Black Sherif's music sales, and interim preservation.
The artist will spend the money, according to his attorneys, if this isn't done.
After filing a defense and counterclaim for Black Sherif, the artist's attorneys, led by Samson Lardy Anyenini, opposed the move.
Ghana Weekend has confirmed that the judge ruled today that the plaintiff had not presented a strong argument for the injunction and other directives he requested from the court.
According to Justice Sarpomaa Amoah, the defendant will suffer great injustice if the request is allowed. The contract no longer obligated the evidence indicating Black Sherif after it was terminated, according to the court, has not been contested.
Thanking the court, Mr. Anyenini announced he was waiving the plaintiff's costs since doing so would hinder current talks between the parties from settling the dispute peacefully.
The dispute allegedly began when Black Sherif, acting without the knowledge of his manager and financier Shadrack, negotiated a distribution agreement with Empire Music.
