Hotton, a participant in Season 7 of Date Rush, talked about how the reality program changed his life. Hottons claims that in addition to leaving with the woman of his dreams, he has gained notoriety.
Hottons acknowledged that becoming a celebrity had its advantages and disadvantages since his episode was broadcast on television. He said that one drawback of his new position had to alter his regular commute. He claimed he was sick of being treated like tro-tro by others.
Because everything has a good and a wrong side, in a way, it has benefited me. The drawback is that I appeared on television. When Ghanaians watch you on television, they regard you as a celebrity. I can't fully live my everyday life in my neighborhood. I am no longer able to take tro-tro. Either Uber or a cab are options. The drawback is that there is considerable pressure involved.
He also noted that on social media, demands for money are made.
"They just caught you on TV. Some people will DM you on social media asking for your assistance in solving their issues (money). But we are common folk," he added.
The ambitious musician Hortons wants to use his newfound celebrity to advance his music and career.
One amusing fact is that I nearly gave up on music. Francis, my media guru, inspired me to return. Being a musician is not simple.
